To shape public policy that governs the business environment. We are the voice of business and the guardians of the business climate. Our work will ensure that Scottsdale remains an ideal city in which to live and do business.
To strategically facilitate the building of community vision. We will take the lead in shaping a powerful community vision - stimulating dialog, building a braintrust, achieving synergy.

South Mountain YMCA, operating as an independent YMCA since 1982, has been providing youth recreational and educational programs for over 55 years.
The YMCA serves over 8,500 individuals annually with participants largely drawn from the local area and surrounding communities. Many summer campers come from the Mid-Atlantic states and other regions of the United States and other international communities.

In 1973, businesses in the South Mountain area formed the Greater South Mountain Business Association. It's purpose was to unite community leaders, business owners and other concerned citizens to build a strong business community.
In the 80's, the Association became a Chamber of Commerce. As the South Mountain area grew, so did the business community. The Chamber of Commerce continued to be a strong force in the community and continued to grow.
On January 21, 2000, to celebrate the new millennium, The South Mountain Chamber of Commerce took the next step in it's development as a Chamber. Incorporating the growing Village of Laveen, the South Mountain / Laveen Chamber of Commerce became an affiliate member of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
As our residential community continues to grow, we look forward to the solid growth of our business community. Through our affiliation with the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce and its wonderful staff, we know the next 30 years will be even better than the last.
